BKK - Part 1

As most of you may know - I am back from Thailand!!! And 1 tone darker.. $700 poorer.. 1kg heavier.. etc etc etc. =.="

Gonna concentrate on the entry mainly in 2 parts: Food & Shopping. Learn how to eat and live like the locals! Not always tom yam goong, tom yam goong, tom yam goong again. *Yawn...

So here are some of my updates, long post ahead! *This will be part 1 before I hit the roads to KL tomorrow morning.

THE SHOPPING EPISODE

Got up really early on Sat morning - gotta leave the house by 4:45am for our jetstar flight departure. Upon reaching the airport and after our breakfast.. the most crucial thing for my dearest sister rizzymoi is... INTERNET!!!!

Always, always make use of the airport facilities.. I simply love Changi airport for all the free phone calls.. free internet access..

*Fast-forward to 3 hours later...

Sawadikaaa~~ We're in Bangkok! Stayed at this place called Samran Place - really nice and cosy.. only @ SG$20 per pax per night! Check this out!

Simple maths: Pay up to $100 per room a day? Or save up $80 everyday for more shopping? You tell me lor.... And not forgetting to mention, Samran place is within walking distance to the infamous Pratunam Market & Platinum mall.. Hmhmmmm....

Places we went:

Chatuchak Weekend market, Pratunam Day & Night Market, Patpong, Platinum Mall, MBK Shopping Mall, Chinatown etc.

I am not putting up all the pics here - since most of the markets and malls look the same. Just 2 places worth/ not worth going:

Chatuchak- likely to be my last trip there, coz it's so humid and hot inside! Things are not exactly cheap, plus they have the highest crime rate for theft. So do be careful when you're there.

Next, Pratunam Market - Great place to shop!!! It's where all the wholesale businesses are. They sell jeans of good quality @ 180 baht onwards! We got 8 jeans in total, WOOTS!

This is what happens when your jeans are too low-waist. The result? Butt crack.

The dogs are selling dirt cheap in Chatuchak. They're all so cuuuute! Only SG$50 + each!

I seriously think they need to engage some spell-check services - Ms Su, please approach them... (FYI: Sazetamun = Chrysanthemum/ Loonggun = Longan/ Lamon = Lemon)

Now, some tips when you're travelling to Bangkok:

1: Unless your flight's bloody cheap - never go for such weird timings.. Not depart 7am in the morning, and certainly not arrival at 12:30 am at midnight.. The cab fare costs me $60 for 2-way. Bloody hell!!!!

2. Be careful at the malls/ markets - If you hear any commotion, do take note of your personal belongings. Somebody out there might be eyeing at your pockets...

3. Tuk tuk - Never hop onto the tuk tuk, till they have agreed to the price. A standard 5 min ride shouldn't go beyond 50 - 80 baht. AND ALWAYS make sure - they don't bring you to some jewelry shopping place. Try yelling: "NO SHOPPING! NO SHOPPING"! to make sure they understand you. See demo below by rizzymoi.

Everything is so cheap in Thailand - It took me less than SGD $200 to get the below stuff (not all shown):
